Robin Nolan, while being considered one of the world’s leading Gypsy Jazz guitarists in the tradition of Django Reinhardt, has also set himself apart by creating his own unique style. From his base in Amsterdam, he has circled the globe, with performances at Lincoln Center, Montreal Jazz Festival, Toronto Jazz Festival, Djangofest and numerous others. .
The world-class Robin Nolan Trio, however, moved their gypsy jazz into original territory with a more contemporary flavor, with remarkable fluidity. The complex beauty was astounding, as Robin flawlessly played through his innovative interpretations to create a very individual sound. This was indeed heady fare for the corner of Burbank Boulevard and Hollywood Way! Harvey Barkan, Just Jazz Guitar May,2005, LA Jazz Scene, April 2005
