Hi folks,

I have put up a new website at http://radiodjango.com -- it features streaming audio of gypsy jazz & related music.

Right now I only have slots for 10 concurrent listeners, but I hope to expand this if the demand is there.

Please take a look/listen, and let me know what you think!

Thanks,

John

Can you hum a few bars?

Seriously, I'm not sure what qualifies as a "dutch valse" but if you let me know, I'll see what I have...

i actually read about them on the forum here, and am not sure what they are. dennis said they're good to figure out for technique.

Maybe just waltzes by Dutch GJ musicians then, like Fapy's "Valse à Bamboula" which you will hear if you listen long enough. :D

Very nice. There are a few disconnects with Amazon for 'where to buy', but fantastic overall! The Les Doigts de l'Homme infusion of the Simpsons theme into Rthym Futur was excellent.

How many tunes are you currently rotating?

Thanks, guys. That "Rythm Futur" (tag is misspelled in my mp3) is great, isn't it? I'm playing some stuff that's also a bit outside GJ as well -- some chanson, trad jazz, gypsy stuff, etc.

Some of the tags are messed up but hopefully most should point to a site to buy (usually djangobooks.com or ****) if the recording is in print. This is one of the time-consuming things for me: not just ripping CDs but accurately tagging all the files.

I have a couple thousand (!) mp3s in rotation now...it's kind of random at the moment...the site is basically in beta. I'm still tagging some more files and once I think I have the kinks worked out I'll start putting up playlists that are shorter but more thought-out.

    thanks,

    John
