I have been using the book for three months and everything seem to be going well. However I practice on an archtop and it sounds ok but when I play a flatop acoustic I can hardly play it the guitar seems to fight with me also my three spare fingers of the right hand seem to bang on the top of the guitar making a thud noise what could be happening? As I'm here, has anyone bought the stochelo rosenberg book? I have ordered it but still waiting for it to arrive.

It definitely take some adjustment when playing on a flatop, classical, or an archtop (especially one with a pickguard). It can be done....but you have to get used to the strings being much closer to the top. It' just a matter of practice really....it always feels weird to me at first but I've been able to play my Martin D-28 and Gibson archtop with Gypsy Picking.

    Good luck!

Thanks for the reply's both. The ajl looks lovely but i dont know if its the quality of the video, but they sound a bit tinny, the models I like have a warm sound again this is probably because the birelli and stochelo videos are a better quality? I take it that nobodys tried the stochelo book?

here you can hear a higher quality mp3 of the AJL guitars... it's AJ's (on rhythm) band featuring Andreas Oberg

the only reason i mention him is because he builds quality guitars and actually listens to his customers and is a pleasure to deal with....

It took about 7 weeks for the Stochelo book to get to me here in the states. Be patient. It's worth the wait.
