I started practicing this rhythm yesterday. One thing that helps me get it is playing it slowly, and that quick upstroke I started doing as a muted rake upstroke. It was interesting because it helped me subdivide the beat before the upstroke, and during the upstroke. Gave me some new rhythmic ideas to work with.
