I could use some help with French pronunciations from time to time, especially things like song titles, so I thought I would open a generic thread.
For openers, would anyone like to take a stab at Menilmontant? Either as a dictonary would: Meh-nel'-maugh-taughn? or perhaps an mp3 clip.
Thanks,
Craig

For menilmontant :
you can say "men" (plural of man) -il- (like in ill)
the last two phonems are hard for english speaking people. It close to what you've written but it more a "closed" sound.
I'll post a mp3 file once I'm back from work.
If you have other requests, post them
If I recall correctly some people wondered about Gitane and Reinhardt. I'll record those ones too.
Thanks! Yes, I understand the "more closed" sound idea. Which syllable has the accent?

The pronunciations for some gypsy jazz tunes that have a french name.
I had fun recording these so if you want more , ask
PS :
I realised I mispelled "Douce Ambiance" that's a "ambiance" in french not ambience
Best,
Jack.
