I'm a huge Oscar Aleman fan. His arrangements, playing and sense
of humor are great. [Try figuring out how his solos are picked
    let's see, thumb-pick, index finger....]
I wonder how much his arrangements and playing influenced players like Fapy. It sounds like Fapy's versions of songs like "Russian Lullaby"
are influenced by Aleman's version. Maybe Besame Mucho too.
[I don't remember if Aleman's version has that cool turnaround:
Cmi-Ab-Db-G, I'll have to check it out again today].
Anyhow, for just plain irrational exuberance [and crazy swing],
check out Oscar's version of "You made me Love You,"
complete with vocals en espanol, great stuff. And while we're on the subject, if you want prime examples of swing and also playing off and on the beat, check out anything by Louie Prima. The band sometimes veers close to outa' control in their swingin' medley's [like the Sheik of Araby],
but Louie, Keely smith and Sam Butera and the gang swing like
hurricane with the help of ampetimine and wine at an all night jam in Harlem.
I don't hear that kind of swing too often.
