Yul Brynner was the Real Deal. Who could forget his magnificent portrayal of Taras Bulba? He was the consummate professional and lived his life with grace, style and courage. At the time of his impending death from lung cancer he was starring in the Broadway revival of King & I. A friend of mine saw one of his last performances and said he performed with boundless energy, as if it had been opening night. Seemingly fearless in the face of death, he recorded anti-tobacco commercials for the American Cancer Society. You just had to love this man.
This is a side of him many of us didn't get to see- thanks for the post!
