Thanks Dennis, I`ll follow that as a guide in trying to teach myself this style.
I actually learned the whole solo last night, great stuff!
As for the Eb7 lick:
Jack: I see what you mean but the first part of the lick seems weird to me if I think off the Eb7 form you mentioned.
Another option that might work better is to think Ab- (Ab Cb Eb) with approach notes ( Bb Db Fb which actually spells Bb diminished) This is better to me because the notes of each arp fall consistently on even and odd quarter notes.
The end is clearly an Eb triad with an enclosure.
Maybe the player in question could clarify this lick...???
