1Parlé:
Cést triste, la pluie, dans la cour d´une prison…
On dirait les larmes de tous les jours qu´on a gachés…
Sur les murs tout noirs de suie
je revois ma pauvre vie…
Pauvre vie couleur de pluie
Larmes, larmes, larmes
Mon enfance á la maison
et puis "l age de raison"…
et puis la cour de la prison
où je tourne, tourne en rond
Larmes de la pluie… Larmes de la nuit
Y a bien eu, dans tout c´gachis,
un amour qui m´a souri…
Ca aussi, ca mal fini. Larms…larmes…larmes…
non, c´était pa un dimanche
Ca n´était meme pas l´printemps,
mais y avait pourtant du beau temps…
du beau temps…du beau temps
C´est toujours comm´ca qu´on flanche,
on croit qu´ca s´ra pour tout l´temps…
On croit sincèr´ment les serments, les serments.
Larmes… larmes…larmes
I am affraid but the lyrics you gave are the lyrics of Tears (written by Francis Blanche).
Here are the lyrics to Nuages by Jacques Larue.
For the people interested in sung versions of Django tunes, Francis Blanche has also written some lyrics for Crépuscule and Fleur d'Ennui which were not recorded by Jean-Pierre Guiran and his friends and do not appear on the excellent Orkest Polytour CD.
That's very interesting Francois.
I am not very familiar with all of that, so pardon my ignorance. But are these Jacques Larue and Francis Blanche the only who wrote lyrics on Django's pieces ?
And by the way, who wrote first ? Did Django wrote music based on some lyrics, or were the lyrics wrote afterwards ? :?:

You are right  Sorry, but since my daughter Josefa is here (* 27.3.2007) I have only 5 % of my usual brain power (which is generally not too much anyway). Sorry again,

Hi Joli Gadjo,
To my knowledge Django never wrote any song in his life, just tunes.
So the lyrics were always added afterwards. Now Jacques Larue and Francis Blanche used to write a lot of french lyrics to foreign standards, so that they could be sung in french. I suppose that's why they also added lyrics to some Django pre-existing tunes. Lawrence Riesner also wrote some lyrics to Swing 42 (Swing Rêverie), Mélodie au Crépuscule and Manoir de mes Rêves. Now, except for 'Nuages' and 'Crépuscule' these sung versions of Django tunes did not made real hits.
You can find this song and some other Django compositions with original contemporary lyrics on this CD: Django Chanté. Please order directly from the artists www.polytour.com. Also a booklet with all the songtexts is available.

Hello Polytour (are you Jean-Pierre Guiran himself?)
I can only recommand this "Django Chanté" CD.
I also love the CD "Le Roi des Jongleurs" with the wonderfully haunting tune Lucia by Jan de Jong. Is it still available too?
Talking about vocal versions of Django tunes I would also indicate the new CD by Christy Bennett's Fumée Gypsy Project "Lost Lyrics" with sung versions of Fleur d'ennui, Crépuscule, Swing 39, Tears, Troublant Boléro, Swing 42, Mélodie au Crépuscule, Douce ambiance, Nuages and Manoir de mes Rêves.
Great songs, great arrangements and (Christy's) great voice and great CD.
Very inspiring and a new way to (re)discover these tunes as if they were jazz standards they are not (yet). Can be found here : https://www.fumeegypsyproject.com/recordings/
