    Speaking of Coltrane changes, here's a reharmonization I did of Djangology. The bridge is all Coltrane changes...fun! :D

    Hey guys great videos I really liked the giant steps. great chart Michael, that looks different from the one you posted a long time ago. what shapes do you use for the first few bars where those 13th chords decend with the a in the bass? Do you just move the chords down in hallf steps using a different finger to play the A bass note or do you use an open fifth string A? Thanks in advance.

    i'll post a few more videos, (the best ones of course), we did an entirely "modern" repertoire concert... we had one of canada's leading jazz saxophonist with us, so it was great to have two world class musicians...

    I use the open A string and use dominant 13 chords on the top 4 strings. It's a pedal tone sort of thing that Bireli used to do.
