For one of the best rhythm section channel separations on a CD, put in Sara Lazarrus CD w/ Bireli then pan to the left channel... Listen to Hono...
Performing or recording with a vocalist, IMHO, is a skill and talent all in it's self, and Hono nails it on this CD...
I listen to Sinatra's bass players from the the 1950-1960 Classic recordings for the same reason, to learn how to back up a vocalist when I play bass...
A.K.
Give it a listen...

Hey how is the weather out there in AZ?
Wait... let me guess... totally freaking perfect.. right?
Think of you often...
Talk to you soon...
Best,
A.K.
the cool thing is that he keeps doing the rhythm fills and so when his guitar solo starts the rhythm section is a little quieter and it sorta highlights his playing. i like that.
I'm gigging in Phoenix next weekend and will stay at Marc D's for a Djam w/ the southern AZ GJ consortium...
I'll say hello...
Best,
A.K.
And say "Hello" for me, too. I bought Marc's AJL last year. He won't recognize me by the sig I use here, but he'll remember the new "human companion" of his former guitar.

O.K. I sure will!
And how's that AJL?
I never got to play it....
Who are we all, with these Avatar's anyway?
Best regards,
A.K.
Marc had Ari-Jukka repair a humidity crack in the top (below the cut-away) some time ago. Last October, I caught another one just forming below the prior one. Proper humidity and a small cleat is holding things together just fine. Re-humidifying the instrument caused a slight back-bow in the neck, which I corrected by loosening the truss rod. As I mentioned in another thread, that rod was so tight I'm surprised it didn't snap.
With the minor repair and adjustments, that AJL is louder than ever with a nice well-balanced tone. It sounds like a different guitar!
