I'm fairly new to these types of guitars. I just bought one and noticed that the action is just a little bit higher than the ones I've played. How can I lower the action?
Wait. You may have the kind of action that is used for this kind of music. As measured from the top of the 12th fret to the bottom of the bass E string, many players use a height (action) of 3.5 mm or so. This gives you the volume and punch associated with this kind of music. It takes about a week to become accustomed to it. I can quickly check my action with a 3.5 mm Wegen Gypsy pick, by just sliding it between the 12th fret and the bottom of the bass E string.
