I recently purchased a used Paris Swing GG-39 and it sounds a lot better than my Gitane DG-255. No annoying overtones! I think the build quality was slightly better with the Gitane, however. I would recommend Paris Swing for a first guitar. As for the Ciganos, you should probably play several as the quality is all over the place. Just my opinion, but I would like to work for Saga or Paris Swing.
  • I've heard lots of folks, including Michael, say that the Ciganos actually sound better and drier than most the Gitanes. I put a large piece of belt leather under tailpiece of my Gitane which muted some of those annoying aftertones a bit.

Ive' had one. The case is awesome. The guitar is junk. Is not a GJ guitar AT ALL. The neck is huge and uncomfortable. Fingerboard is flat and wider than a spanish guitar. It is a really strange combination. Stay away from it.
