Tuzet's book is in French, and not the easiest French for amateurs, either. The layout is similar in style to MD's book. But it isn't exactly about the history of this music - much of the book is capsule biographies of important players, and the emphasis is on French players. There is a chapter on Selmer type guitars, a modest but competent discography of essential recordings, a list of legendary music venues, and so on. There are lots of photographs, both historic and modern, many of which I have never seen before - also many photos of things like LP and book covers. Printing and binding are excellent. All in all it's really a good book, just be aware that if your French isn't pretty sharp, you might not be able to read all of the text.

And why didn't I see you at Django in June?
