I just got this description from Jared Engel - bassist for the Stephane Wrembel Trio - of the clinic he will be offering at Django in June. It will be called The Tradition of Gypsy Jazz Bass Playing. Thought folks here might be interested...

In this 2 hour class I will discuss what the bass players' role in gypsy
jazz music has traditionally been, what has changed and what has stayed the same. I will focus on time keeping, tone, musicality, and improvisation. I will also provide numerous practice techniques that are useful for practicing by yourself or with a rhythm guitarist. This class will be oriented on helping any bass player become a better gypsy jazz bassist, regardless of their level or experience.
