I'm pretty sure he doesn't speak English. His father does, and usually handles all English correspondences for him.

Samy is a great guy and musician, he played rhythm for me in Paris three weeks ago. He speaks a little english and is easy to communicate with.

Samy is a great player. I used to have his Minor swing quartet stuff but lost them in a move. are those discs still available?

Actually Samy speaks excellent english- he had an english girlfriend for quite awhile.I remember meeting him in 1999 at the Vendome guitar festival in France and being amazed at his great english-he was backing Raphael Fays(who,by the way, has an english daughter living in Stockport ,England)
He's also a very funny guy and superb player in my opinion.
and don't let the fact that he does bear an uncanny resemblance to Norman Bates put you off....

Funny...I didn't know he spoke so much English. Everyone always told me he didn't and his Dad always did his correspondence for him. But I guess he's just too busy gigging to write email in English.
