Patenotte 250

I was wondering if anyone out there has owned or played the Patenotte 250. Any info would be appreciated.

    Dave,

I haven't play these guitars, but I haven't heared anything good about them. It seems that the lower numbers, 250 to 255 would need quite a lot of work to be simply good guitars. The neck is completely flat, the frets would probably need to be sandpaper like for most of the Patenottes and the woods could be better, and the PEGs might need some upgrades.

That being said, if you have the willing to go to the top of what Claude Patenotte build : petite bouche 256 or 258, grande bouche 260, you'll enter another world, because these are good guitars... hand picked woods, nice neck, PEGs etc... all short scale btw.
I have play these and I own one, and they are quite good. Of course, these aren't perfect like a Dupont. But you know, if Patenotte would spend 3 or 4 more time on his guitars, they would be as expensive as the Duponts'. But be assured that with Patenotte you 'll definitely get the real deal of the gypsy sound and touch.
Please send me pm if you want more info.

I used to own a 250. The only good thing I could say about these guitars is....they're made in France. The home of the best gj guitars. Other than that, I wouldn't consider it. I have never played the top higher end guitars, but would imagine they are nice.
