cellist & violinist wanted

Hi all,

In a couple of months the theater I work at is most likely going to close up shop, and I've been thinking about how I'm going to make a living afterward. One idea I've come up with is to form a group to play what I think of as "chamber-jazz", consisting of some standards, some bossas, some tango, and a few other things.

Right now I'm looking for musicians in the Western Mass area-primarily violinists, cellists, or upright bassists-who would be interested in forming an outfit to play private gigs and/or any public gigs that pay off with cash, exposure, or both. Ideally, I'd like to practice once a week to start just to get a feel for one another as musicians; that could drop down to twice a month (or less) soon after if all goes well.

Basically, this will be a General Business band and artistic greatness isn't necessary, though it's welcome. What is necessary is the ability to read simple chord charts, and, for any violin players, the ability to improvise. If this sounds like something of interest-for you or anyone you know-feel free to get in touch via PM or email.

thanks,
Jack.

Hi Jack....sorry to hear the theater is closing. That seemed like a really cool place.

But maybe this will be the beginning of a full time career in music!
