My DJ 300

I received my DJ 300 from Django books last month and really love it. It is so different from my archtop and flattops. The long scale and the fret marks at the 10th fret have kind of thrown me off a little bit. I realize how visual guitar playing can be. Any suggestions about settling this minor problem.

The long scale you'll get used to over time. The fret markers can be an issue if you're switching back and forth between guitars with different styles, but it's an easy alteration if you want to have it switched. Any luthier will do it. If you're using the side dots only, you could just dab on some White-Out or something like that, or take a Sharpie to the inlaid dot...

    best,

My advice would simply be to get used to it. It's good to be comfortable with both since you never know what kind of guitar you might end up with at an impromptu jam!

I agree with V-dub... that's the best advice you could get. And you will get used to it and after awhile you may even start ignoring the markers altogether.
