Has anybody tried these? I just ordered a set to try them out.
They have a set specifically made for Maccaferri guitars (called silk and steel, model TSL1146). They are handmade in Canada and they are available "coated" (like Elixir strings) so I expect they may last longer than Argentines.

"It's a great feeling to be dealing with material which is better than yourself, that you know you can never live up to."

- They took forever to arrive (like over a month).
- The loop ends of all 4 wrapped strings were too small to fit over the rivets on my tailpiece! How did I get them on? Have a look at the attached photo. It's not a pretty picture.
- How do they feel? To me, good feeling strings are more plyable, feel like lighter gauge, but still have a full sound. The Wyres website advertises this to be the case with their strings, but I disagree. Argentines feel better.
- How do they sound? Not very good at all. Putting on a new set of Argentines makes me fall in love with my guitar all over again, as it should be. Putting on this set of Wyres strings makes me think it's time to buy a different guitar.
I'm always looking for the next better thing, but Wyres strings ain't it. First thing I did after playing a gig with the Wyres strings is I went home and order 10 packs of Argentines!
