I discovered Who was Georges Effrosse, on Google.. My Mother, Marie Rose, is the daughter of Effrosse and Simone Cornuché....

My Mother did not know him too much, and what I know is by what I read on Google... Thanks for all informations

Hi,

What happened to Georges Effrosse is not clear. Consulted on this point Alain Antonietto once said that there are two versions (in private correspondance).

The first one is by Jacques Hélian. Shortly before he died, Hélian visited Alain Antonietto and told him that it was a member of the band Effrosse was playing in who denounced him as jewish to the french nazi militia. Alain asked him if the traitor had been arrested at the Liberation and Hélian said "No, it is sufficiant that he knows that we know". Such was gentle and tender Jacques Hélian who believed in bad conscience, commented Antonietto.

Second version by "Dady" Boyer (Django's impresaria) : Effrosse was not jewish and was caught in a roundup and arrested at the exit of a performance hall (quite often in 1944 the nazis took some french citizen at random as reprisals of the Resistance actions).
