HI everyone,
Hope you all had a good holiday. I first started on guitar about 3-4 years ago after hearing Django, I knew I wanted to play this kind of music. A year before I bought my first instrument ever, a ukulele. I've had no musical experience and have just been learning on my own from books.
It seems like everyone who plays gypsy jazz has some musical background, ie they know alot of theory or have played guitar for 10 years plus already so they have a good foundation.
I've tried to go on a path where I study as little theory as possible in order to train my ear.
My question is,
I've just been studying gypsy picking, unaccompanied django, and rhythm guitar. I'm trying to focus a little on soloing and arpeggios though. I've heard the key to the way Django plays is (from fapy) is learning how he connected his arpeggios.
Do any of you know a good song where it's easy to analyze how Django connected his arpeggios?
2. Is there anyone out there that is following the same path or who first started playing guitar learning gypsy jazz?
Thanks, have a good new years folks
Daniel
