Found this great video of Fijkeli Prisor and Stochelo on Youtube:

There are some other ones as well.

Fijkelie and his band (Prisor Jazz band) will bring out their first CD soon and I am looking forward to that event.

Best regards and a happy new year,
Barengero

    Barengro,

Thanks for posting this. Never heard of Fijkeli Prisor, great playing. Found more vids on youtube. I like the one with him and Paulus Schaefer on the couch. Want to take a stab at pronouncing his name?

I was wondering what his name was. I saw him at Samois in 2006. Heres one of the videos I filmed:

Last year (2007) we had a lot of fun with Feigely and his compagnons at Titi Bambergers place in Samoreau; with Juan Arenales (guitar) and Christoph König (violin).

    Enjoy:

In the first video someone shouts his name at 2:40 ("Feigely! Stochelo!"). Listen!

I had a few jams with Fijkeli at the Gerwen camp. Here's Fijkeli and Paulus playing Michael Dunn guitars.

Feigeli was one of the players who impressed me most in the campgrounds at Samois in '07. Nice to see him getting some recognition here. If you ever needed a demo of what "Gypsy picking" is all about, this guy's a one-man tutorial. Check out the volume and tone on the first video at the head of this thread. That's not mic placement, that's phenomenal technique.

He plays with another lead player named Eddie (Baumgartner?) and they have all these melodies worked up in harmony. Cool act. I'd love to have them over for Django in June sometime and have checked in with Feigeli's manager about it. I have no idea if you could get these guys on an airplane though!
