file hosting?

Hi all,

I've got a technical question for anyone savvy about these things. I'd like to set up a blog to share some recent recordings, but I need to find a way to host the music so visitors can simply click on a title to begin playing it. Ideally I'd like to do it in a way that meets these requirements:

-visitors don't need to log in or register for anything.
-visitors don't need to download any software.

Any ideas? I'd rather not use something like myspace if possible, but would rather find a way users could simply access the original files...

there are a couple of flash mp3 players you can embed in your site such as wimpy: http://www.wimpyplayer.com/

i think thats the one emicad uses on his site.

but for this to work i think you would need to have FTP access to the server you are hosting the blog on to upload it. which might not be possible with services like blogger.

Google Pages will do it. They recently added Javascript support and they give you 100mb of space which is enough to put about 10 mp3s maybe.

Also, you have the added bonus of using "Google Analytics" to track traffic.

Also, I think ReverbNation is pretty cool. It allow provides widgets so that you can place them around the internet to help market yourself.

If you're looking to make it a blog / frequently-updated site with separate posts, you should check out Tumblr (http://www.tumblr.com/) -- it's free and very user-friendly.
