Artificial harmonics???

Hello Andreas,
I remember watching you do a great long artificial harmonic intro to "Out of Nowhere" and was wondering if you could tell me how you do it...

Where do you put the pick?
What finger(s) do you use to pick the string?
Ways to practice?
General advice??

I meant the harp sounding ones, they're just so cool!
It looks like your picking them with your thumb, right?


And since we're on the topic... I'd also love to know how you approach the single note harmonics a la Django's solo to "Nuages".

When I play single note artificial harmonics ala Django, I'm plucking the with my thumb and lightly touching the string (12 frets above the note played by the left hand) with my index finger. If you want to get a more agressive sound, you can use the middle finger to pluck an upstroke while you're using the thumb to create the artificial harmonic.

I think I asked this before, but I was wondering if anyone with an acoustic guitar has ever tried to pinch harmonics using the pick and the flesk of the thumb. I tried Andreas technique and the other one on Djanog's solo on Nuages, and both work fine.
What's your experience ?

pinch harmonics work for me on the bottom 3 frets only. they are too hard in other places on the neck. they are only really effective on an electric guitar though, IMHO.

for all the other harmonics, personally i think hitting them hard so that the harmonic is as loud as your regular notes, is a cool thing.
