Thought I would mention that my daughter Julia is doing some Django interpretation at some venues in the Denver area. Apparently I passed on the gypsy jazz bug to her (God help me) and she is doing some strange performances playing gypsy style with a bow on the Manouche MG 165 archtop she still has... she's doing some kind of Django theatre thing as well. You can check out her site by just going to google and type in her name. I think there are some photos of her doing the bowed archtop thing... anyway if you're in the Denver area check out her performance. She's much more talented than me!

Thanks for the ad, dear 'ol dad. Now, I thought I would mention that my band Ode to tHe Marionette has created a character (therefore a series of songs) named Professor Plume. This guy is a Paris based detective, solving your not so average mysteries. His latest mystery, The Liberation of Fiery Fingers, involves Django who is suffering from bouts of ... things ... and is considering doing something drastic. Anyway, to understand, you'll have to first listen to Briefcase Odyssey, which introduces Professor Plume. Then you can listen to The Liberation of Fiery Fingers - the tune about Django. Now, we're not claiming this happened...just that anything can happen. We hope you like it, but sorry, dad...I'm not bowing the gyspy jazz guitar in this one (but I promise you jazz).
