    when I first picked up the guitar about 8 years ago or so, Jim Hall still lived here in Portland and a friend of mine was taking lessons from him. I came very close to asking him for some lessons when he moved out of our city.

    I've ssen photos of Jim with different (they looked it anyway) pick styles. My guess would be he uses a variety, including Wegens, but not sure. Speaking of Jim Hall, has anyone mastered his "St. Thomas", the version he played with a bass player ("Alone Together" LP) at the Playboy Club in the early 70's I believe? Nice changes in that one...
