Actually, the part where he says "I could use a Zima right now" in French was what tipped me off.

Do you realize the implications of this!?!? Only a space alien disguised as a human would intentionally *ask* for a Zima!

Gypsy Jazz, indeed humanity as we know it, is in danger!

well, i guess it's settled now. sorry for the tease. i guess i got overly excited when i saw a guy that looked like a young tchavolo (and it even said 'tchavolo' at the bottom of the frame) that i didn't even bother to look deeper and question it! however, the guy's playing was a little aggressive, in a way, like tchavolo's, so i figured maybe we were watching a young mr. schmitt fine tune his chops...anyway, i'll be more careful next time.
btw, that website with the clips has other great gypsy jazz videos as well. ones that were not on youtube or google video.

Damn! So it's not Tchavolo... that hurts. The guy's playing sucks much in the same manner mine does . I was hoping to become the next Tchavolo in 20 years or so... :(

Another reason is because if you have heard his playing with Wedeli, or even before that, his playing really hasnt changed much, its still Tchavolo and it had his distinct sound.

Yeah, but it did feel good while it lasted, didn't it? I had the same thought. There's a guy who put up a paper he did analyzing the Tchavolo approach using a few songs off Alors..Voila that I downloaded and hope to understand one of these days, so maybe it won't take quite that long. We need to form a Tchavolo School to counter the Stochelo School that is rising from Europe!!!
