Fylde SelMacs?

http://www.fyldeguitars.com/index1.html

Can't find a pic online outside of the site ... click on Gallery > The Art of the Guitar > second pic on top row.

The Egyptian is similar to a petite bouche, and the other one (Caliban?) looks like a grande bouche but with bridge pins. They favor the Florentine cutaway.

Well ... just found a Caliban ...

And I think this is also Caliban ... but it doesn't have the Florentine. So???

Quite interesting, the second picture almost looks like a cross between a Martin and a Maccaferri. I don't know if I'm just seeing things, but the small area of bracing that is visible almost looks like the standard "X" bracing pattern found in most acoustics. This would make it only Selmac in appearance, but not in the sound department.

Interesting find nonetheless, and hopefully someone with experience in these instruments will chime in.

I saw them a while ago, and although they do look interesting, I wouldn't really consider them gypsy gits. But that is with no knowledge whatsever, and never having tried one.

I played a Caliban this afternoon.

Except for the zero-fret and the shape of the soundhole that is similar to a grande bouche, there is nothing gypsy about these guitars: a standard (although sweet sounding) steel-string flat top, with paddle head, fixed bridge, bridge pins and all.

    Here's the one I played:
