Fisoma Strings

I as looking on the Big City String web site and I notices Fisoma listed. I had never heard of these before so decided to try a set on my Dell'Arte Sweet Chorus (12 fret D). It turns out they are made by Lenzner but lower strings are a bit heaver that the standard Lenzer (11 - 47 instead of 11 - 45).

I have had them on for about 2 weeks now and am very pleased overall. They are somewhat warmer sounding than the Argentines to my ear with no discernible volume loss. The bass seems rounder and more defined as well.

Thanks for the info. I noticed two things on the Big City site: The Fisoma strings cost a third LESS than the Argies 8) and the D-string is rather light (26 v. 28/29 on the Argies). The cost-savings is a strong inducement to give the Fisomas a test.

Pity I just bought 10 sets of strings from Michael. It'll be awhile before I'm ready to order/try a different brand

I put a set of these Fisoma (Lenzer made strings) 0.10's on my JJ DG 300. They are silvered copper-wrapped over a hexagonal core string on the wrapped strings. They come as ball end only. I didn't have any of the inconsistency problems that I continue to find with the Argentine strings - no dead strings.

They sound similar to the Argentines and have a slightly softer feel; I found myself bending more strings and using more vibrato due to the ease of playing them. There not quite as snappy sounding as the Argentines, and by contrast, they are certainly not stiff like the D'Addario 0.10's. At the $6.00 a set price, they are a good alternative to Argentines.
Perhaps this site might consider carrying them.

Cool....I'll look into it. Although, usually hex core strings are stiffer then round core strings like the Argies. My guess is that the gauges are actually different (don't believe what the packages says!)

I tried some this week, and after one solid gig on them I like them a lot on my d-500. The D string is odd, and to me seems almost as thin as the G string!
They sound great, and I like the slightly less tension feel. They remind me of when I tried silk and steel except they sound great and work well with my transducer set up. The silk and steel were too dead sounding and did not activate the bridge pickup like I would have liked.
So far, I am going to keep on playing them.
