I just picked up a really nice new album called "Hotel Bergerac" by the band Papillon. It's a collection of French and Belgian songs, musette, and a little bit of Eastern European music, played with great skill and warmth. The band includes Koen De Cauter on guitar, sax, and vocals, and Jean Corti on accordion, along with singer Karla Verli, accordionist Gwen Cresens, electric guitarist Hendrik Braeckman, bassist Ben Faes, drummer Cesar Janssens, and percussionist Kobe Proesmans. Those who enjoy the music of Les Primitifs du Futur and Les P'tits Belges would probably dig this album. I picked up my copy from CDRoots.com, but perhaps Michael will stock it in the near future (?).
