Hello Gypsies,
I was wondering if someone had transcribed the head of Festival Swing. I am talking about the version played in December 1940 where Delaunay introduces the entire band and each player takes a 12 bar solo, including Reinhardt and Rostaing at the end. Does anyone know who wrote this tune ?

Thanks a lot for your answers, anything about this tune would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Does anyone know who actually wrote this tune. Is it a Django tune ?

'Taint much of a head to this 'un, folks. It's a straight-ahead blues jam of the "1-1-4-5" variety in C ("Do" for y'all in Europe). Not much of a musical stretch here, but dang it's fun to listen to... if for nothing else, the "correct" pronunciation of the names of those French "musiciens," n'est-ce pas?

Do you mean the entire tune is an improvisation ?

Yeah, pretty much. Everyone knew the key, the chord progression and... just had fun with it!. That's the essence of jazz!
