I have been reading about this pickup. It looks similar to the benedetto pickup. I would like to mount it on my cigano. Will the argie strings work with this setup? Anybody using a benedetto pickup on thier selmac style geetar?
Thanks Big

I have one of these on a Heritage Eagle archtop, with a 500k mini-volume pot on the pickguard. It's a bit thin and trebly sounding compared to my archtops with humbuckers, but with enough fiddling with the eq (I roll the treble way back and the bass and mid way up) I can get a pretty decent acoustic archtop sound. I've tried several kinds of strings with it, and the best results have been with D'Adarrio Chromes, stainless steel flatwounds basically. With Phosphor-bronze strings which sound great for acoustic archtop playing, the balance is a bit hot on the unwound B and E strings. Not sure about Argies, but they should have enough metal content to work with it. My guess would be that the E and B strings will be a bit hot, but that's what some folks say about Stimer pickups too.
