i'm looking for a decent grand-bouche guitar with a good setup for under 800. anyone about to upgrade who wants to get rid of something keep me in mind.

also, can you guys suggest what models i should be looking for. I'm thinking if i wait a while i can find a Jorgenson already set up for that price.

Having played D-holes from Cigano, Dell Arte, Patenotte and I think the D500 is a great guitar for the $$.

How does the gitane D500 compare with the china-made dell'arte D-holes? Ive been eyeing both of those.

Andrew, if you are looking for a good D-500, I sent you a PM.
I've never been a guitar player, but I've played one on stage.

There is a Michael Dunn on ebay that might also be of interest to you.

The cheapest Dunn ever on ebay, so cheap one would be tempted. But then, the neck has been replaced and is all wrong, the bridge is not a proper "gypsy" bridge... I don't know. I'm not sure Dunn himself would approve that guitar today. But, of course, it may play great: I'm just guessing.

Oh yeah. It's been modified all over the place, but it doesn't seem to have any structural problems (not sure how I feel about the Barcus Berry though) For the price, it might be worth a look, considering what $800 in the gj market will usually get you.

that guitar seems to be a flatop. The bridge alone suggests that it will sound and play nothing like a gypsy guitar. This guitar may have little or no top arch and who knows what the bracing is like. This is extremely early for a Dunn and seems to be a completely different design then his current guitars. Looks like he just made a flatop that looks a bit like a Selmer. Would be fun to see what it sounds like...but I'd expect a tone more like a Martin then a Selmer.

I have one posted for $700...

Nearly new and in great playing condition--I gig with it sometimes.
