downstrokes on arps

edited June 2008 in Gypsy Picking Posts: 33
I am little confused on the use of downstrokes going from the high E to the low E string. Is the action of the wrist to let the down stroke bounce up off the string propelling it to the next string. Example, stroke the high E string, the wrist sort of bounces up and then stroke the B string and so on. Is this correct? Because I can't see how these master players can play so fast using just down strokes when going from the high strings to the low strings. It seems that the "bounce" helps propel the wrist to the next position.
Thanks

some people feel that there is a "bounce." I never thought of it that way...

Generally, it just takes a lot of practice...eventually you'll be able to do successive downstrokes really fast.

    good luck!
