Heavy Artillery

My apologies if this is not the correct place for this post.

I have many DR cds but none with the tune Heavy Artillery. I'd like to get a cd with a good recording of this tune - any suggestions? I've been browsing and see there is more than one version. Which is the best one to get?

You probably know this, but just in case: it's usually listed as "Artillerie Lourde" on track lists, so there's a chance you do have it after all. There's a good version on Integrale vol.19.

To tell the truth, I've always found this tune to be kind of stodgy; most treatments tend to be plodding and vaguely hokey. Unlike most tunes, my favorites tend to be by people other than Django. There's a swinging one by Jean-Pierre Sasson on the Proper gypsy jazz box set, for instance...

Is the name of the collection actually called The Proper Gypsy Jazz box set? Sorry if this is a naive question.

Oh, and yes, I am familiar with the French name of the song. I looked through my collection multiple times for the title in both languages and couldn't find it; which was a surprise since I have two box sets that I thought were fairly comprehensive.

Proper is the name of the label...they've got a whole series of box sets at about $25 each (usually 4cds). A bargain!
