This Saturday night, August 2, join us as Gypsy jazz quintet Sinti Rhythm performs at Atwoods Tavern in Cambridge. After a July respite the band is resuming its monthly shows featuring French and American jazz standards from the swing era of Django Reinhart's Quintette du Hot Club de France. This Saturday we are pleased to welcome from Northampton, special guest, accoustic bassist Julia Kay, a mainstay of the Western Massachusetts Gypsy jazz scene who's performed with Swing Caravan and BOK Trio. If you haven't already caught her now's your chance to do it, while she's in town. The band boasts as well the usual cast of stunning suspects including showman extraordinaire Andy Moore on clarinet, fleet-fingered fretmeister Jack Soref on guitar, swinging syncopator James Nicoloro on drums, and myself doubling on guitar. On vocals will also be the flirty and insouciant chanteuse, Molly Malone. Show starts at 10pm. Come share with us a little bit of La Vie en Rose!
Atwoods is located at:
