I think all of Bireli's Hungaria's are some of his best arrangements/playing. There's one of him playing at the latest Samois on youtube and another of him playing at some school in Cali that are great.
that's my favorite django version as well..needless to say, amazing!!! probably one of the best uses of chromatic run in that track (ie. the modulation) but i don't think it's some of his best playing like those other examples are with regard to bireli.
also, angelo's version from entre ciel et terre has of my favorite rhythm tracks. actually, that album has one of the best recorded swing sounds to my ears. in general, angelo and ludovic make some of the most listenable records in this genre.
....but i don't think it's some of his best playing.....
It may not be his best but it is still fantastic playing particularly the second solo. Even when Django was not on top form, there are very few people who have been able to get close to him.
