another good example is that you can play Dark eyes with pure m7b5 shapes (although maybe the Em7b5 isnt the best over BbMajor but i'll do it anyway):

    C#m7b5 |C#m7b5|Bm7b5| Bm7b5| C#m7b5 |C#m7b5|Em7b5| %| %|% | Bm7b5| Bm7b5|C#m7b5 |C#m7b5|Bm7b5| Bm7b5|

If you go that route you might try using Dm7b5 (rootless Bb9) then using the Em7b5 shape for Gm--it's not perfect but it preserves the chromaticism of the A to Bb move.

    best,
    Jack.

Interesting substitution ! Indeed C#m7b5 works over A7, in fact it looks very much like an A7, but without the root...

Which raise the question : If you decide to play everything with half diminished chords, what does your Bass player play : A or C#m ?
In this specific case for Les Yeux Noirs, I'd say A... What do you guys think ?
(C#m is iii de A, and would work fine, but I'd still like your opinion)
