I did try a string change with no success.
Since the action is so low I'm thinking maybe the strings are not sitting properly in their slots.. I'm gonna try a bit more neck relief and if that doesn't solve it maybe I'll reshape the slots to see if things improve.
I sure hope it's not a loose brace and also hope the frets are ok (don't trust my local repairmen)
Thanks to all for the advice.
Just in case someone ever has the same problem:
I'm not yet 100% sure but it seems the ball ends on the first couple strings (Fender not Savarez) where rattling against the tailpiece, somehow they don't sit as well as Argentines unless the ball is turned sideways.
Next time I'll probably make them into loop ends ( http://frets.com/FRETSPages/Musician/St ... loops.html ) and maybe do that little purple (or red) ribbon coating at the end.
The top of this thread there was talk about buzz at the first few frets...that's often a sign of an over tighten truss rod. I'm surprised it wasn't one of the first suggestions.
I've had to use a small piece of cloth tape on the ball ends too ...once in a blue moon.
I always use just a little neck relief.
Yes there was buzz a the low frets but also at the high frets.
It mostly happened on certain frets or notes and only on the high B and E.
I tried everything else, adding relief, then making the neck straighter, changing the leather under the tailpiece, changing the bridge, renotching the bridge, changing strings.
And then it was suddenly gone for a couple weeks... then it came back... I noticed that by chance when i changed strings the ball ends ended up sideways on the first two strings, so when the buzz came back the first thing i tried was turning the ball ends, and it seems to be working.
