Jamming at Djangofest NW

I was thinking about organising a jam at Djangofest NW for those (myself included) who are some what intimidated about playing with the many top notch players jamming around town. My thought was that there may be others who play this music but are not quite as evolved musically who would be more comfortable jamming with those of similar skill levels. And also I would think that the more advanced players would also rather play with those of similar skill.
Anyway If you have any interest in this or other comments please let me know either on this forum or by PM.

I don't know that an explicitly-identified slow jam (as we call similar items at Augusta's swing week) is all that necessary at DFNW--aside from the fairly welcoming atmosphere I've observed, there are so many jams, often barely out of earshot of each other, that all one really needs to do is estimate the current level of chopitude and join in (or not). I suppose there might be circles where the talent is so formidable that one might want to just sit and watch, but I don't ever recall getting the bent eye for sitting in. (Of course, maybe I'm just too dense to notice.)

yep, Russell is right. its really easy just to start a jam with someone by just asking them or whatever. its going to rain this year though and so it might be tougher to hang around outside and look for people...

Yeah, well... even Django couldn't predict the weather a week in advance.

What are the temps in Seattle area ?? (in Celsius ?) it's like winter already or what ? :)

It's never too cold here, as we are on the water. It is like living in Bretagne, Anvers, ou Pays Bas.

    Here's what Weather.com says....

Friday - High 17, Low 9, 20% chance of rain
Saturday - High 16, Low 9, 30% chance of rain
Sunday - High 18, Low 9, 10% chance of rain

That's actually not that bad... It'll probably be cloudy, but if it isn't raining I'll be pleased :)
