Just went down the store for new strings, and picked up a set of the "Nuages" strings, thinking I'd try something different.
1st grumble - it isn't marked anywhere on the package if they are loop or ball ends. But, by some squeezing, I decided they were ball ends, which I don't particularly like, but I've used the Argentine ball ends before, so I thought I'd give it a try.
2nd, and significantly more important grumble - the wrap around the ball end is so large that the bloody string won't go through the hole on my Gitane 320! They are basically worthless to me...
Arrrgggh.

Scroll down the page and be careful!!
I tried it once with fender plain steels and after removing the ball end the loop wasn't big enough to go through the post, i twisted the string to make the loop bigger and the string broke... hope that doesn't happen to you with the "nuages".
It'd sure be cool to have that little twisting gadget...maybe a pair of pliers can do the trick.
