Hi all,
been playing for 20 years or so, into Django for 10 or so,
and finally got up the gumption to buy my first Selmer-style guitar.
I live in Austin, Tx, where you can fling a cat and hit an incredible guitar player, and if you have a GJ guitar, you had better know how to play it.
As much as I thought I knew about this style, it wasn't until I actually owned one that i realized i have a lot of learning ahead of me.
When i was shopping guitars, I really started looking at this site, and just want to say thank you to all of you for the wealth of useful, (and fun) info on here. I also would like to encourage anyone like me who was wavering on dropping a bunch of money on one of these guitars. Go big. You won't regret it. I got a Dell 'Arte Sweet Chorus, 12 fret big mouth, and it is the greatest guitar that has ever happened to me.
Anywho, happy to be here, and i would like to share some more resources with those of you that can navigate Usenet, if that is acceptable here.
I , of course, have some questions, too, so i'll post where appropriate.
word,
j
