ok so i keep breaking strings, between 1 to 3 a session, especially when i practice with a band...
i usually break the g or d string, and i use argie 10's however i've broken them all at one point or another, (except for maybe the low e), in any event i'm using a wegen 5.5 and i admit i haven't been playing for all that long so it could easily be faulty right hand technique for all i know however in the meantime i wanted to know what everyone thought i could do to prevent this
from happening so frequently...
should i get heavier strings? go to a lighter pick? the reason i haven't gone with one of these options yet is because i really like the configuration i currently have...i just switched to galli 10's and although i haven't broken one yet i have to say they have a slighter duller sound than the argies...thanks!

If you're breaking strings at the bridge try painting the inside of the slots with a graphite pencil, it works most of the time. I don't break any strings anymore and I pick fairly hard.
You can also mix the graphite powder with a little oil or vaseline and apply that to the slots.
Buffing the slots just a tiny bit with very fine sandpaper or even the string itself helps too, afterwards paint with the pencil.
Hope this helps you.
Please posts your results here.
If they always break there, it's probably what Michael said... best to have your bridge looked at.
