Which of the gypsy jazz standards fall under public domain in the US?

I was thinking Dark Eyes might be.

Does anyone know of a public domain fake book?

I did a little research and discovered that any song that was recorded in 1922 or older falls under public domain. I can't verify that these tunes are public domain, but that's what my search of wikipedia, etc. tells me. Please help me out and add to the list!!!

Have you looked here? They have a list of PD songs you might find useful. They also offer sheet music books for sale.

    best,
    Jack.

I did check that site out. That's where I found info on the US date for the copyright cutoff, and some of the tunes I listed. I was posting on this forum in the hopes that I could get a list of songs in the jazz and gypsy jazz genre that are public domain.

Michael, you must have come across some more gypsy jazz standards that are in public domain?

I noticed that John Jorgenson has recorded a lot of these public domain songs, so I guess he doesn't want to pay the overly high fees ascap/bmi/sesac wants for recording music that's still under copyright either.

I see Running Wild and Tiger Rag are part of the list in Jack's post above.

Many other tunes are on there that would work in a GJ format. I know a lot of those tunes from old Les Paul records
