So my girlfriend woke up yesterday morning (after discovering the magic of a Wegen pick the day before) humming Minor Swing and announced that she wants us to form a GJ type duo. She is already a good folk-rock rhythm guitar player and amazing jazz singer, so this shouldn't be too far out of her skill set. I think this would be a fun project to play little wine bars, coffee houses, restaurants, etc.
I'm looking at a lot of tunes, but I'm open to recommendations, especially tunes that are rather easy. Here's what I brainstormed over coffee, based on tunes I am already familiar with playing. Of course, we may have to tweak some of these tunes for a more GJ sound.
Minor Swing
Tears
For Lisa (BSO version)
Topsy
Autumn Leaves
It Don't Mean A Thing
Harlem Nocturne
Any other ideas?
