GJ Teacher in Paris

Hi,

I am looking for a good GJ teacher in Paris.
Any recommendations?

    I'm not from Paris, but think Samy Daussat...i know a guy that have Samy Daussat as teacher and he tells me that is super !

    I forgot to mention I am not Advanced GJ player.
    Not sure they would take something other than an advanced player.

    I am beginner too...but, if i'm in your stead, i choose to learn first more books like Gypsy Picking by Michael Horrowitz...Gypsy Rythm, Intro into Gypsy Jazz or more like that, and after a teacher to know something theory and technique.

    I believe Serge would teach you anyway, you might want to contact Mathieu Chatlain, Richard Chiche (used to play with Krief) or other good rhythm player to get going.
    BTW Sammy Dausat is a good suggestion too.

    When you get to Paris go to a few concerts and jams and talk with the players.

    I found Krief's contact info.
    Do you guys know how can find Daussat, Chiche's and Chatelain's info?
    Daussat has a Myspace page with an email there that seems to be for bookings only...

    Serge can get you Richard's contact.
    For Mathieu and Sammy your best bet is to go to one of their gigs and ask personally. Mathieu plays most mondays at la Taverne de Cluny and I'm pretty sure Daussat hosts a weekly jam somewhere around Montmartre, maybe the Blue note (?)
    Another teacher could be Pierre "kamlo" Barre...

    Anyway Serge's great! I took a couple lessons from him and i'm sure he'll be able to show you plenty

    Thanks for the info.
    I sent an email to Krief through AllAboutJazz.com. They don't give out his info but there is a contact form to fill out. No idea if it is going to go through or not...

    If you send me a PM I can give Mathieu's email address. JP Watremez is another good teacher, though I'm not sure exactly where he is in relation to Paris.
