It's not that new. Paul Balmer (the author) did great research and long interviews with Grappelli about 10+ years ago. The first result of this was the magnificient DVD Stéphane Grappelli: A Life in the Jazz Century.
This book is (judging by the ToC, I only have the DVD) more or less the same story in book form. Maybe late 50's and Hilton years seem to have been covered better than in the DVD, which is understandable because there probably isn't that much filmed material of those times.
If you're looking for a Grappelli bio book in English, this is probably the best (again, judging by the DVD).
