DG 300 in the right hands...

It just made me realize that I should invest less in guitars and more in exercise...

That is a lovely tune. I wish I could read the Dutch. Does this help us?

Some Dutch can be sounded out fairly well if you speak English & German.

    My swag would be

Een respectievelijk Nederlandstalige groep en een Sinto (zigeuner), die officieel hun single "Gypsy lady in de zomerzon" (release 9 juni 2008) zullen presenteren.

A respected dutch gypsy band and their single "Gypsy lady in the summer sun" realeased June 9, 2008 is (will be) presented.

But I thought the name was "For Costa"

At any rate - it's beautiful.

French is kind of like this as well as a great many English words came from French during Norman rule... so basically all words ending in "ion"... most words ending in "ant or ent" and virtually all words ending in "aire" are "ary or ery" in English... let's see... probably four or five other examples like that. The novelist Alexandre Dumas when learning to speak English reportedly said: 'But it all seems to be French.. just very highly pronounced."

I'm pretty sure this tune is by Costa Lukacs, he can be seen playing it on two occasions here:

So when they say "For Costa" I think they mean in a tribute sort of way instead of the name of the tune. I could be wrong of course. I'd like to know it's name too.

But I'm in full agreement that it's a great tune! I worked out how to play it, although unfortunately I haven't written it out:

    Thanks that's definitely it!

And, I know I'm boring, that's the best sounding DG 300 I've ever heard. I'd like to take a closer look at it...

    P.S.
    Great performance Thrip!!!

    P.P.S.
How comes we're not all on our knees venerating Costa Lukacs?

Listen how the cat could bop, he's really the missing link between Django and Bireli!

    Thanks Frater!

I think the problem is that he was little recorded in his lifetime and so didn't get the exposure he deserved. Without youtube I certainly wouldn't know about him. I really know very little about him and would like to know more if anyone has information.

He did do some recording however. Some stuff as a sideman and
there is an album under his own name called "Mr. Guitar". Currently out of print.
