Got my first GC guitar just before Xmas, got Michael's gypsy picking book as an Xmas present, and of course being a noob, I promptly dove into La Gitane by Tchan Tchou Vidal.
Well, tonight I made it to the end of that happy little piece. Considering I couldn't even spell "gypsy jazz" before November, I'm proof that you can teach an old dog new tricks.
So, I want to thank this forum, especially Barry Warhoftig for making available the notation and the others who made powertabs for La Gitane. Also Michael's gypsy picking book showing me how to get fast with a three inch thick pick. Couldn't have done it without all your help.
Love that Gypsy jazz!
Cheers,
Tom
Why do they call it a rest stroke......I get tired every time I try playing like that.
